Under Construction Shortlisted for Building Innovation Award

We are delighted that the Under Construction app is a finalist for the Building Innovation Awards.

The awards will take place on 4th November at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. The evening includes a drinks reception and three-course dinner in addition to the awards ceremony and entertainment. Justin Moorhouse is an actor, writer and comedian, who will be presenting the awards.

The Building Innovation Award celebrates innovative products, services and technologies that are reshaping the UK construction industry. It recognises and celebrates the people who pioneer and embrace emerging technologies and digital transformation. The vision is to take the UK construction to the next level. These technologies boost productivity and profit, deliver greener, smarter and safer work environments and Under Construction has been recognised in the Best Health & Safety Innovation category.

The app is built to improve health and safety management for construction companies. It includes features such as customisable forms, safety documentation and licence renewal reminders to create a smooth running working environment for any team in construction, while ensuring adherence to the SHEQ Policies. (Safety, Healthy, Environment and Quality). Supervisors can manage their projects on site using the app whilst managers can access the records from their desk top in real time.

The premise for the application came from Gridlocked. They wanted an app that they could use on their construction sites. They wanted to move from paper and pen to paperless. Under Construction manages equipment checks, tool certification, staff PPE and reporting defects. It also has the ability to capture photographic evidence, allowing quicker response times for issues and better results.

Gridlocked use the Under Construction app full time, as a result it has transformed the way their business works.
